On November 28th, Eduardo Cadava, Professor of English and awardee of the President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching, participated in the Profiles in Distinguished Teaching series, co-sponsored with the Office of the Dean of the College and the Office of the Dean of the Faculty. Cadava offered a powerful reconstruction of the historical world that “made a sentence” in one of Emerson’s writings – and offered a powerful demonstration of how a sentence can distort, distance itself from, and decontextualize that world. We invite you to watch a recording of his teaching demonstration and discussion.
